Advanced Gynecology Treatment Options

Dr. Poorti Riley is always searching for new solutions to offer patients with any number of abnormal gynecological symptoms or discomfort. To Dr. Riley, it is not enough to use the same basic standards to address every patient’s concerns, but rather, it is critical that a suitable treatment can be found for each woman and her unique needs.

Dr. Riley achieves this goal by constantly searching for advancements in gynecological medicine, including new techniques, products, and procedures.

Da Vinci Surgery

The da Vinci Surgical System is a robotic tool utilized during minimally invasive gynecologic procedures. This system allows Dr. Riley to perform a variety of different surgeries to help treat her patient’s symptoms, all while reducing their overall risk for potential complications.

Da Vinci minimally invasive gynecological surgery can be used to perform hysterectomies and remove ovarian masses. It is used in some instances to treat cases of endometriosis, uterine fibroids, pelvic organ prolapse, and even cancer of the female reproductive system. The benefits to using the da Vinci Surgical System include smaller incisions, reduced recovery time, and less discomfort for the patient herself.

Orilissa

If you are not yet ready to explore procedures used to treat endometriosis, then Orilissa may be a more suitable option for you. This prescribed medication has been approved by the FDA, and is designed specifically to reduce mild to severe symptoms of endometriosis.

Orilissa is particularly useful in helping women who suffer from the following endometriosis symptoms:

  • Pain during intercourse
  • Abnormally painful menstrual cycles
  • Pain between cycles

Mirena and Liletta

In recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of women seeking longer-lasting forms of contraception. This change has led to an increase in the amount of intrauterine devices (IUD) and intrauterine systems (IUS) being utilized by many of our patients.

Mirena is a hormonal IUD that provides up to 5 years of highly effective birth control, whereas Liletta typically provides up to 3 years of pregnancy prevention. Dr. Riley is able to place the patient’s intrauterine device or system during a routine office visit, which will continue to require only minimal maintenance and checkups while it remains situated in the patient’s uterus.
